Me! We had the speaker playing Donny Hathaway as we went down behind the house to check on the lone blueberry bush I discovered only a few weeks ago (even though she’s lived there for almost two years!) The first round of blueberries we picked were crazy tart – couldn’t even eat them! But the branches were heavy with sweet blue drops this time, and we picked them as the jazzy sounds were drifting down from where the speaker was parked up on a brick wall. It felt like we’d snuck away from some outdoor wedding reception and were having fun in the overgrown backyard where guests aren’t supposed to go :)

These are concept models for packaging for a soap, cleanser, and moisturizer – three distinct products which are part of the same line, so the packaging coordinates. I created the butterfly motif from images, manipulating the color and then playing around with placement until I found a striking pattern. It was so interesting to create different patterns with the naturally unique and beautiful shape of the butterflies.

I’m really enjoying working on this skincare packaging concept, especially because so much of today’s design is digital. I’m cherishing opportunities to create designs that will ultimately end up as physical items!

So happy with this heart chakra graphic, which I made to be a poster. The level of detail is really fun, and it has a good vibration. The text, which is really subtle, says “focus on the heart.” A good reminder to us all 🙂

I would love to do more of these and always love designing for holistic health practitioners!

This is a close-up of a poster I’ve been working on for fun which shows equine markings from faint, snip, and faint stair all the way to irregular blaze (this one) and a bald face. I’ll add the full poster soon, but I’m really excited about how the drawings of the horses’ faces have turned out with sketched lines that allow for a lot of color variation. I think this one looks like she has a sweet personality!

Is it just me, or do these colors make you feel instantly happier? That’s the goal of this postcard, as well as the personal training services it advertises. I love designing marketing materials for health and fitness entrepreneurs because it’s a service I can really get behind – I’m all for my design contributing to peoples’ health and happiness 🙂

This poster is part of a duo that focuses on some of my favorite landmarks from my home-city, Atlanta. Included in this one are the King & Queen buildings along I-285, the sign from the fabulous Fox Theatre, references to Six Flags, the Georgia Aquarium, Coke, Hartsfield, and way in the background is the AT&T building downtown. I’ll post the other poster soon, which features the Big Chicken 🙂

We loved this pic of me because it shows my goofy smile, front and center. I’m new to Instagram (it took me a long time to warm up to the idea), so now I feel like I’ve got to make up for lost time!

I’ve been artistic all my life, but designing for going on 8 years now. I also work in the interior/architectural design industry. My graphics style ranges from clean/minimal to clean/minimal with a funky or retro twist.

This graphic shows how members of a collegiate committee were selected from different areas of the school, and I’m working on it for a newspaper article. I love the simplicity of the graphic (using circles to represent “heads” or “seats” in the committee and the bold colors.

Here’s a sneak peek of a lunar calendar I’ve been working on for fun… this is part of the cover. The primary shape in the calendar is a circle (the full or new moon, duh!), meaning that each day is represented by a circle instead of a square/rectangle like you might see in traditional calendars. I’m repeating that circular shape on the cover, keeping it minimal with a retro/vintage twist in the font and use of outlines.

I love this opportunity to just play and have fun

I love this opportunity to just play and have fun – with an art book design. One of my favorite things here is the use of text and color as the primary way to communicate. There are no images. But repeated As and Zs become graphics that take the place of photos, as do blocks of vibrant color that make each “page” in this book (once folded) a different experience.

Using text and color in creative ways is always great, especially in a world where it’s easy to get reliant on having images. If you’re working in an industry that doesn’t lend itself to a lot of photos, you can still have fantastic graphic design and marketing materials, it just requires a little more creativity.
